Darling Josie is a collection of seventy-three poems which tell the story of Josephine Brett, a young wife in her mid-thirties. A visit to the doctor confirms her worst fears. She has cancer.

 

Despite her oncologist's best efforts, which seem for a time to be successful, Josie is eventually diagnosed as terminally ill. 

 

These poems tell Josie's story, vividly and  uncompromisingly. Here is a tragic tale of our modern times, rich in visual imagery, sad and inspirational in turn. As with Terence Pettigrew's earlier poetry collections, his words come straight from the heart.
